3528: Have 300 LEDS, but only capable of 3 colors. RED, GREEN and BLUE. If you set them all to blue for example only 1 out of every 3 will light up so you end up with just 100 LEDS. Each one of the 100 LED's is about 50% of the size of a normal LED.The led's themselves are not as bright and vibrant. You pay what you get for.
5050: Have 150 LEDS, but each one is capable of producing 22 colors! Each one is 2X the size of a 3528 led and each one is brighter and more vibrant. At the end if you add it all up, if you set a 5050 strip to blue, youll get all 150 LEDS shining blue, it will be brighter and more beautiful, and simply will produce 50% more light per LED. The 3528 strip is going to provide you just 1/3 of the light, and will not even be as vibrant and colorful.
